It's official! I am a bonafide, published author!
Oh. Emm. Gee.
I'm a published author.
I think I need a minute to sit down. Take a minute to let it sink in.
My little abstract dream and huge leap of faith is now a reality. No matter how this goes or what happens next, when I read the manuscript, I am so proud of the result. This is something I will always have with me.
What makes this even better is the support, encouragement and excitement of my friends and family. Honestly, I think they are more excited than I am.
About a week before the release, I went to dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, and she told me that when she told her son that she was leaving, he asked, "Is this the friend that wrote a book?" My mother looked at the Amazon page and said, "Wow. I never thought my daughter would have one of these." On release day, I received messages from my siblings full of smiles, fist pounds, and "Go 'head, James!" So many people telling me that they are proud of me, encouraging me to write more.
You know what? I think I will!
